California Redistricting Commissioner | California Citizens Redistricting Commission
Jeanne E. Raya is a California Redistricting Commissioner. Jeanne saw a historic opportunity to effect political reform in California as a Commissioner. Her commitment to civic action was inspired by her grandmothers, who were community leaders, as well as by her father, who ran for City Council in 1958 to give a voice to the Mexican-American community, and worked to end segregation in local schools. She owns an independent insurance agency staffed entirely by women. Jeanne earned her Bachelor’s Degree and Teaching Credentials at the University of Southern California, and her Law Degree at UC Davis. She was president of the California La Raza Lawyers Association and also served on the Committee of Bar Examiners. Jeanne currently serves on the San Gabriel Community Foundation governing committee, and as a member of the California Hospital Medical Center Foundation Board in downtown Los Angeles.
