Founder, Illinois for All |
Raised in Oak Park, Illinois, to a working class family, Anthony Clark is a military veteran, high school special education teacher, community organizer, non profit director, & co-owner of a small business employing disadvantaged community members. In the summer of 2016, Anthony founded the Suburban Unity Alliance, an organization dedicated to combating discrimination by raising awareness and bringing communities together based on common interests and community goals. He believes it’s time this country lives up to its promise of liberty and justice for all.
In 2018, Anthony was recruited by Justice Democrats & Brand New Congress along with individuals like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to launch a progressive grassroots campaign for congressional office in Illinois. Despite losing, Anthony continues to support progressive candidates, while fighting for medicare for all, taking money out of politics, criminal justice reform, an end to the war drugs, retroactive legalization of cannabis, public education reform, immigrant rights, lgbtq rights, living wages, housing as a human right, abolishment of ICE, and responsible job creation.
Anthony is also one of the co-founders of Illinois 4 All as he looks to continue to engage in efforts to change communities on a systemic level.
As Anthony’s grandfather Choom often quoted from Muhammad Ali, “Service to others is the rent you pay for room here on earth.” and Anthony believes it’s time to rent to own.
